so this week is the AQS quilt show in Paducah, KY.....remember this quilt? i posted about it back in august...it's 'show' name is "Mountain Holly and the Rare Red-Berried Mistletoe" pieced by Jan C. well, jan entered it for the show and it was accepted! that alone is an honor! the story made our local paper and everything. i got to go to jan's house and get photographed for the article....it was all a bit embarrassing....there are two other cobb county quilters with quilts in the show....
(this picture is it hanging in our local guild show, hopefully i'll get a picture of it hanging at Paducah)
well, if you click here to go to the list of winners (don't get ahead of me) and scroll down you'll see this:
it took third prize in the bed size quilted with a longarm/midarm catergory!
thank you, jan, for giving me the opportunity to quilt your quilt! like i always say: "it's easy to quilt a quilt that is beautiful to start with" it is also an advantage when the quilt is so well pieced.
....now if you'll excuse me there is a cloud with a big 9 on it that i need to visit :)

ReplyDeleteThe quilt is gorgeous, she did a good job on it. I can't really see your quilting from the picture, but based on your past work, I am sure it is astonishing as usual.
