WINNER WINNER

so i posted a picture of my pile-o-quilts and had yall guess how many in the pile.

there were 29 quilts in that pile!!

i had three correct guesses, but i could only get in touch with one the other two were no-reply comments....so congrats to Carreen! i'll get your winnings in the mail soon!!

and just so you know, i don't keep my quilts in a big pile....they do have a shelf to live on *promise*

(there are a couple on the shelf that weren't in the pile)

i fold my quilts with the patchwork out, so i know what quilt is what and not have to remember what fabric is on the back of a specific quilt....

...plus, it's prettier that way, i think.

winner winner!

it's time to use mr. random number generator to see who will win the pouch...

i threw in a FQ of the fabric (it's an OOP fabric by Jean Wells copyrighted 1995) and a key fob i made.

thank y'all that entered and welcome to all the new followers!

congrats to Rosa in Spain...send me an email (half_square AT hotmail DOT com) with your addie and i'll get it in the mail for you!

milestones giveaway winner!

so today's the day i annouce how many strips i cut

so they they all are.....

believe it or not- nobody was even CLOSE with their guesses, except the winner.

so how many strips were there?

729
so who won?
rose who came the closest with her 695 guess. she lives here in town, so i'll be taking the tote to her soon.
that was fun!

yes i am just as shocked as you guys!  each stack is 100 strips, with the stair step stacks containing 20 strips.
so alot of you guys were curious what i was making with them....i'm doing a bargello type block.

i also don't like having a giveaway where only one person wins, so i wrote a short tute on how to sew the block that can be found here.

thanks for playing along and entertaining me! we'll do this again real soon :)

winner winner, chicken dinner

i'm a slacker- beat me with a wet noodle! i'm just now getting around to postng the winner of lucky's photo caption (2 points if you actually remember that)

without any more delay, the caption i liked the best was:
Vicki W....she won a custom made bento box tote from me and picked red and black as her color combination. that was not easy for me, as i have no red in my stash. i'm not a red fan...i made it and mailed it and she let me know she recieved it...i promise to not to take so long next time....

i would like to *wave* at all my readers! i noticed i now have 141 followers! thanks for stopping by and reading my blog!

winner winner, chicken dinner

i'm sorry....i unpacked my calender today and noticed i was suppose to pick a follower winner for the little box tote....

i'm gonna be lazy and use random number picker....

weiner! weiner!

we have a winner folks!
kathy's  (tamarack shack) caption is my favorite. it was a hard decision...there were some good ones!

kathy email me (half_square @ hotmail. com  remove spaces) and let me know where to send your pouch...also what colors do you like?

i'll just have to assume

i mailed the giveaway prize for barney's caption winner on tuesday.. USPS Priority mail...i assume it made it *fingers crossed*  so here's what is sitting in kim's po box waiting patiently to get outta the box...

i made her one of my little pouches with my 'trademark' fried egg flowers appliqued on it.  kim said her favorite color was green...hey me too....no problem finding greens in my stash! i even had a green zipper!

look at the inside! that zipper is put in by hand...i covered all the raw edges...by hand! check out the zipper pull- it's a fabric bead sewn by hand! see, i love my readers!

so are you drooling?  would you like to own your very own of these little pouches?- head over to lucky's picture post and enter a clever caption for your chance to win one custom-made shannon pouch original....you get to pick the color....end of the month is the deadline....you're still here?

caption winner!

doh! shame on me, i started a giveaway without posting the winner of barney's caption...

*drumroll*

davis liked Kim S.'s caption the best!

kim, shot me an email and let me know what your favorite color is....and where to send your prize!

(not that it matters, but Bethany's was my favorite : 'First one to blink loses. Starting now.')

follower giveaway received

remember the follower giveaway? well, vivian won and i received an email today that she received her prize and i promised to post pictures of what it was....

i made her one of my quilted composition book covers....i quilted a navy batik fabric with  feathers using a beautiful variegated thread...

the inside snugly holds a composition notebook. i found some at the local office supply store that are gridded. perfect for quilters...i might do a tutioral one day...but don't hold your breath!

ETA: vivian blogged about it here...

follower give away winner

congrats to vivian!!
vivian shot me an email with your address....half_square @ hotmail.com (remove the spaces...)

the envelope please...

*drum roll* the winner of the red dogfood bag tote is:

(i was totally amazed that barney did this! it as totally out of the blue. i saw on that one blog giveaway that a lady let her chicken pick, so i thought i'd see if he'd do it like the chicken. surprise of surprises- he did! normal 'round here is just a setting on the dryer!)

If I opened a shop with fabric and goodies it would be Shipyard Quilts because the building I'm in was the office for the ship-builders that were here until 1920.My quilting business is The Crafty Unicorn because unicorns have always been my good luck charm and "crafty" gives me more options than just quilts (but who needs more than quilts!)Love the bag by the way.
