i lost a furry kiddo this morning. lucy has went on to the rainbow bridge. she was a part of my life for 15 years.....it is very abrupt, one second she's here, the next *shrug* gone....

crazy cat!

what is it with lucy and boxes....i ordered a ruler for my long arm and it came today. i swear i didn't have it out of the box, put the box on the floor, turned around twice, and lucy's already claimed it as a bed. she also spends hours rubbing against all the corners of the flaps...

does anybody else's cats do this with boxes? better yet- does anybody's cat have any crazy quirks?

...it's national cat day. so i'm 'celebrating' by spotlighting lucy in a blog post.

yup, i have a cat. she's 15. i know alot of cat people say this about their cats, but lucy doesn't know she's a cat. i'll explain: i found her in a box with her litter mates. she was the only one still breathing (there was a male, but he died pretty much the instant i touched him) she was less than two weeks old. that means her eyes weren't even open...so flash forward- she opens her eyes and sees me...so, she really doesn't know she's a cat...

the funniest personality trait she's developed lately is that she's figured out that when my customers drop off quilts, they will pet her. now she's quite the social butterfly. whenever someone use to come the house lucy would run and hide. (when davis moved in, he knew i had a cat, but really didn't see her for about two years.) so now when you come to the house you'll be greeted by two wagging tails and a persistent purr box.

the motto in the house: if you have time to sit, you got time to pet!

i think someone let the cat out of the box.....i tell you what- come up with a clever caption for the photo of Lucy and leave it as a 'comment', i'll pick my favorite (davis's opinion will be considered as well) and i'll see what i can find as reward. (fat quarters, if you LA i have some thread, etc) deadline is June 19th.
