feedsack irish chain

every once in a while i get a old, vintage quilt top to quilt.

sue brought me this gorgeous hand pieced feedsack irish chain. those squares are one inch finished.

it was so much fun quilting it- there were actual 'aunt grace' feedsack prints in the quilt!!
i CCed the squares and put my favorite, feathers, in the negative white space.
here's what the back looks like.

i like to think the piecer is in heaven thinking "thank goodness! it's finally finished!"

  1. Oh, I'd give my eyeteeth for that quilt (if I had eyeteeth or even knew what that really meant)! Beautiful piecing and beautiful quilting. What a treasure!

  2. Oh, that is a fabulous quilt! I will steal it from Julie after she trades her eyeteeth for it.
