help...

i've had these FQs for a while and i found the perfect quilt pattern for them. i'm thinking they would look good in Lily's QAL...

my only hiccup is what background color? i'm wanting to use a kona cotton so i can showcase the quilting there...no white cause i use my quilts (and so do the dogs :) ) i was leaning towards ash...

suggestions?

  3. Where will it be used? Who is it for? If you want to go dark, maybe a charcoal gray. But I would consider trying to get close to one of the lighter turquoise colors in some of the pieces. Looking forward to seeing what you do with this!

  7. Hi Shannon, well I took a look at the Kona colors and I would say the Kona Ash is my choice! It is a nice neutral color and would display your fabrics very well. G

  8. I like the ash as well but if you want to add a little more color to the background how about #1028 Blue it is a light grey blue fabric that will help show case all of your fat quarters.

  9. Black would make the colors pop -- and I have found it to be pretty cat proof. Should be dog proof too!

  10. omg I love those Marcia Derse FQs - I have some, too, and WHY didn't I think of using them for this QAL? You are right, they will be PERFECT. I think either a turquoise, kind of like the rings in that very centre FQ, or perhaps a wine or raisin of you want darker. Can't wait to see your work - I'll be the one drooling.

Lime Green. A fun, happy, Summer color.

  12. I'm thinking with a dark charcoal or black it would look like a lovely stained glass window effect.

  13. Kona Snow, or even better, Kona Carmel. Maybe Kona Banana?
