beachy keen, summer's end

i mailed linda's quilt and she recieved it today, so that means i can post pictures!!

it was fun to quilt...all the 'little' details added with the quilting.

my favorite is the 'sky' quilting

i used a chalk-liner to mark the lines all the way across the block, thru the lighthouses, boats, and birds. then when i quilted, i just back tracked on the edge of the applique or in the ditch. i like how the lines continiously flow behind the motifs, it makes the subject pop....

i've always likes sand pipers...i guess they would be my favorite beachy bird
here's a detail of the block in the border...

i used a RW&B varigated in the blocks and the outer border.

this light house has 3D quilts hanging on the fence...too fun

it's the perfect quilt to post at Labor Day weekend...

thanks for letting me quilt it linda! glad you like it!
