pictures from TN- part one

when i say i'm from the mountains of east tennessee, well, i mean it....davis was amazed at the fact that there's no guard rails (giggle, silly cajun, guard rails are for tourists!) ....it was hard to take pictures to show the steepness of the slopes...but i did try. enjoy the view, but watch that you don't get close to the edge....

there's a creek running through the holler way down there...about 150-200  feet....see the little water fall...
dad said he's seen little brook trout in it....he coon hunts in this area...

here's a shot of a culvert from under the road....the mountain laurel in this area is sparce, so you can see kindda straight down. you difenately don't wanna to slip and fall....

the rock walls are beautiful...sandstone, limestone, and granite in areas...and yes, it is pretty much straight up, and i'm standing in the road...

here's a tree that broke from the weight of the snow from all those storms...we saw alot of these. this one was about the same diameter of an average dinner plate.

here's a good shot of one side of the road...this is a good illustration to why hillbilly's have one leg shorter than the other...ridgerunner.... (sic)

see the houses in the holler to the left...

this is coming down the mountain towards the paved road...

this is the time of year to take pictures, in the spring, you can't see through the leaves....but i think it's prettier when everything is green...fall is absoulety to die for.....

i have pictures of the farm....i'll share them later....

  1. Taking pictures in the fall is why I hate trees and summer around in my neck of the woods...ya can't see for spit here either. I like my open WIDE open spaces and trees just don't cut it... LOL I so needed to get my prairie fix this summer, needed to get out of the woods for a minute.
